Over 40 years ago, Mark C. Hershey (founder of our mill) was one of the first, and maybe the first, to perfect the process of steam cooking whole soybeans ("Soyflakes") which can then be flaked/rolled and also ground if need be. The steam cooked and flaked soybean ("Soyflake") is preferred by many to the roasted/toasted soybean in feeds due to its greater retention of nutrients (40% protein), the valuable fat is not burned off, and its flexibility to be ground (to increase availability) or made into our extremely popular pellet & flake feeds. In addition, our Soyflakes average 9.5% moisture out of the mill - NOT 13-18% as competitors falsely claim.  There are very few mills in the United States which have the ability to make Soyflakes.

Studies on our dairy farms (includes a 900-cow dairy in Conestoga, PA) prove that high producing dairy cows produce more milk on our whole or ground soy flakes due to their higher nutritional digestibility over roasted beans. 

We also steam cook and flake/roll corn, barley and oats which are also popular products in our custom made pellet & flake feeds. We sell our steam flaked/rolled soybeans, corn, barley, and oats in bulk or bags to other feed mills as well as to farmers.
